Carlos Lauler claims Chilean LNB weekly honour

International Shooting guard Carlos Lauler (190-SG-1996) had a great game in the last round for Club Deportivo Valdivia and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 29-year old shooting guard got a double-double of 24 points and 13 assists, while his team beat Ancud (#7, 1-7) 100-86. Valdivia is placed at 3rd position in Chilean LNB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Valdivia will need more victories to improve their 5-3 record. Lauler just recently signed at Valdivia, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Lauler has impressive league stats. He is league's best passer with 7.3apg. Lauler is in league's top in and averages solid 52.6% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Raekwon Horton (198-F-2002) of league's best team Club Deportes Las Animas. Horton impressed basketball fans with 29 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. It was enough for Las Animas to edge the lower-ranked Puerto Varas (#4, 5-4) by 3 points 91-88. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Sur. Las Animas consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. His team lost just one game this season, while they won 8 matches. Horton is one of the most experienced players at Las Animas and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Colombian Cristian Solis (206-C-2001) of Colo Colo Santiago (#4). Solis showcased his all-around game by recording 22 points, 12 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Colo Colo, leading his team to a 79-66 easy win against Espanol T. (#7, 0-8). The chances of Colo Colo not to end season at such low position in Centro, however are less than slim as they have already lost 5 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Solis could try to bring Colo Colo's a little bit higher in the standings. Solis has individually a great season in Chile. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 13.8rpg (#1 in league). He also has 2.0bpg and a FGP of 58.1%.
