Jahsean Corbett claims Chilean LNB weekly honour

U.S. Virgin Islands-American Jahsean Corbett (198-G/F-2002, agency: Helping Ballers) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's second-best CD Espanol Osorno and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 12.
The 23-year old swingman had a double-double of 31 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Puerto Varas (#4, 7-6) 90-81. Espanol maintains the 2nd position in their group in the Chilean LNB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Espanol will need more victories to improve their 9-3 record. Corbett just recently signed at Espanol, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Jahsean Corbett averages this season 19.8ppg and 7.3rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Argentinian Santiago Calderon (190) of CEB Puerto Montt. Calderon impressed basketball fans with 40 points and 8 assists. It was enough for Puerto Montt to edge slightly lower-ranked Castro (#7, 2-10) by 3 points 89-86. Puerto Montt's 5th position in Sur has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 4-8 record. Calderon is one of the most experienced players at Puerto Montt and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Marco Ugalde (1999) of Club Deportes Castro (#7). Ugalde got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for eleven rebounds and five assists. Despite Ugalde's great performance the Castro lost 86-89 to slightly higher-ranked Puerto Montt (#5, 4-8). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Castro can only dream about fighting for top spots in Sur. They have rather bad season and 2-10 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Ugalde has individually a great season in Chile. After 11 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 6.6apg (2nd best). He also has 2.1spg and a FGP of 58.3%.
