Santiago League Round 4 (Second Stage): GUG defeats CDP in the game between Top 4 teams

There are only two more rounds left in the Second Stage in Santiago League. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

An interesting game for GUG (3-1) which played against 3rd ranked CDP (1-3). Second ranked GUG managed to get a 4-point victory 84-80. GUG forced 22 CDP turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Juan Guerrero (201-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Rigoberto Mendoza (190-92) contributed with 26 points for the winners. Naturalized American forward Angel Nunez (203-91, college: S.Florida) replied with 22 points and 7 rebounds for CDP. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. GUG keeps a position of league leader, which they share with CPN. CDP at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Plaza. GUG's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Santiago Plaza.
An interesting game for CPN (3-1) which played against 4th ranked Plaza (1-3). First ranked CPN managed to get a 11-point victory 111-100. Worth to mention a great performance of American Cameron Lard (206-97, college: Iowa St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Ramon Galloway who added 27 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. At the losing side naturalized Spanish forward Edward Santana (203-80) responded with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists (made all of his eight free throws). Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. CPN maintains first position with 3-1 record, which they share with GUG. Plaza at the other side stay at the bottom place with three games lost. They share the position with CDP. CPN will play against CDP (#3) in Santiago in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Plaza's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Santiago to the arena GUG.

An interesting game for CPN (3-1) which played against 4th ranked Plaza (1-3). First ranked CPN managed to get a 11-point victory 111-100. CPN made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. CPN outrebounded Plaza 47-35 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 34 assists comparing to just 21 passes made by Plaza's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American Cameron Lard (206-97, college: Iowa St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and the other American import Ramon Galloway (190-91, college: La Salle) who added 27 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest.
