Bass' 33-point game gives him Santiago League Player of the Week award- April 9, 2021
He had the game-high 33 points adding eight rebounds and two assists for CDP in his team's victory, helping them to beat Plaza (#5, 1-4) 100-86. It allowed CDP to consolidate first place in the Dominican Rep. Santiago League. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but CDP already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Bass had a remarkable 73.7% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at CDP, being already a very valuable addition to the team. University of Detroit Mercy graduate has very impressive stats this year. Bass is in league's top in points (3rd best: 25.5ppg), rebounds (6th best: 8.0rpg) and averages solid 64.4% FGP. Second best performed player last round was Edward Santana (203-F-80) of Plaza. He is naturalized Spanish forward in his first season at Plaza. In the last game Santana recorded impressive double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Plaza lost that game 86-100 to league's leader CDP (#1, 4-0). Plaza managed to keep the same 5th spot in the standings. 4 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Plaza managed to get this year. Santana is a newcomer at Plaza and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. Third place about best performers goes to forward Emmanuel Andujar (198-F-93) of league's second-best Cupes. Andujar scored 26 points and grabbed five rebounds. He was a key player of Cupes, leading his team to a 96-92 win against Sameji (#6, 0-4). Cupes is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 4-1 record is not that bad... Andujar has a great season in Dominican Republic. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.6rpg (8th best). Other top performing players last week: 4. Jose Guitian (207-F-87) of Sameji - 23 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists 5. Juan Miguel Suero (196-F-93) of Cupes - 18 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists 6.
