TBS Round 3: San Lazaro lose their first game against Mauricio Baez

There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with loss of the undefeated team and favorites losing the games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of San Lazaro (3-1) at the home court on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by Mauricio Baez (4-0) 84-77. 25 personal fouls committed by San Lazaro helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for naturalized American guard Gerardo Suero (196-89, college: Albany, agency: BIG) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds. Forward Juan Miguel Suero (196-93) helped adding 18 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American-Puerto Rican swingman Justin Reyes (193-95, college: STAC) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
Very significant was El Million's (#6) just 2-point road victory against Bameso 92-90. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Tevin Glass (206-94, college: ETSU) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Tim Bond accounted for 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Ramon Galloway (190-91, college: La Salle) came up with 29 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for Bameso in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game.
A very close game took place in between San Carlos and Huellas. San Carlos (1-3) got a very close home victory over Huellas (2-2). San Carlos managed to escape with a 2-point win 75-73 on Sunday evening. The best player for the winners was Isaiah Austin who scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Richard Bautista who recorded 17 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game.

Barias (3-1) crushed at home Los Prados (0-4) by 26 points 108-82, which is the biggest margin this round on Friday night. Worth to mention a quality performance of L.J. Figueroa who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

In the last game of round 3 winless Los Prados lost to El Million on the opponent's court 72-78.

El Million - Los Prados 78-72

The game between closely ranked teams ended with Los Prados' (0-4) road loss to El Million (2-2) 72-78 on Wednesday. Los Prados were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American forward Tevin Glass (206-94, college: ETSU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds. Leandro Cabrera (190-88) helped adding 15 points and 10 rebounds. Four El Million players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American DJ Laster (199-96, college: Gardner-Webb) with 21 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Alante Fenner (196-93, college: SSU) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Barias dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Los Prados' 40. Barias forced 19 Los Prados turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of swingman L.J. Figueroa (198-98, college: Oregon) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 4 assists. American Paris Bass (203-95, college: Detroit) helped adding 17 points and 8 rebounds. A very close game took place in between San Carlos and Huellas. San Carlos (1-3) got a very close home victory over Huellas (2-2). San Carlos managed to escape with a 2-point win 75-73 on Sunday evening. San Carlos dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Huellas' 30. The best player for the winners was American center Isaiah Austin (216-93, college: Baylor, agency: Slash Sports) who scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Naturalized American swingman Jayvian Delacruz (196, college: Pikeville) chipped in 14 points. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Richard Bautista (187-97) who recorded 17 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals and American Jordan Williams (198-92, college: N.Texas) added 23 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Bond is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four El Million players scored in double figures. American guard Ramon Galloway (190-91, college: La Salle) came up with 29 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Nigerian-American power forward Ikechukwu Diogu (204-83, college: Arizona St.) added 26 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Bameso in the defeat.
