Ferreira's 27 points and 6 rebounds give him Player of the Week award

Oliver Ferreira

29-year old guard Oliver Ferreira (189-G-1993) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Capitanes and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
He had the game-high 27 points adding six rebounds and five assists for Capitanes in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Santiago Max (#3, 6-4) 100-99. Capitanes is placed at 2nd position in Dominican Rep. league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Capitanes will need more victories to improve their 6-3 record. Ferreira just recently signed at Capitanes, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Ferreira has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 26.6ppg), assists (3rd best: 5.2apg) and averages solid 1.1bpg and 3.6spg.

Second best performed player last round was Michael Tillman (195-G-1996) of league's second-best Santiago Basket. He is American guard in his first season at Santiago Basket. In the last game Tillman recorded impressive 17 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Santiago Basket lost that game 80-100 to slightly higher-ranked Fenix (#1, 8-2). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in East. Santiago Basket still maintains its place in the top 2 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 4-6 record. Tillman is one of the most experienced players at Santiago Basket and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another Capitanes' star - center Adris Rodriguez (203-C-1988). Rodriguez showcased his all-around game by recording 11 points, fifteen rebounds (!!!) and seven assists in the last round. He was another key player of Capitanes, helping his team with a 100-99 win against #3 ranked Santiago Max. Capitanes needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in West. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 3 lost games. Rodriguez has a great season in Dominican Republic. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 16.3rpg (#1 in league) and assists with 7.1apg (best passer).
