The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Caneros (9-4) in La Romana on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Titanes (8-4) 87-83. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Caneros. Titanes made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American forward Terry Larrier (203-1995, college: UConn) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 5 rebounds. point guard Richard Bautista (185-1997, agency: BMS Sport Agency) contributed with 8 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Yeison Colome (190-1996, agency: BMS Sport Agency) answered with 19 points, 8 assists and 4 steals for Caneros. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Titanes have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 8-4 record behind leader Reales. Caneros at the other side dropped to the second position with four games lost. Titanes will play against Marineros (#6) in Puerto Plata in the next round. Metros will play at home against Soles and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Caneros have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Despite that victory Caneros went down to second position due to points difference. Leones lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 11 games lost. Caneros will meet league's leader Reales in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Leones will play against Indios (#4) in San Francisco and hope to secure a win.

In the last game of round 9 Indios beat Soles on the road 119-101.




Titanes - Metros 111-95

An interesting game for Titanes (8-4) which hosted in San Cristobal their close opponent Metros (7-8). Third ranked Titanes had an easy win 111-95. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Metros. Titanes forced 19 Metros turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Point guard Richard Bautista (185-1997, agency: BMS Sport Agency) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners and American guard KJ Jackson (187-1998, college: UMBC) chipped in 25 points.
