Reales defeated Marineros in La Vega 104-94. Reales looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists. American point guard Quade Green (183-1998, college: Washington) fired 25 points and 5 assists (perfect from the field making all eleven shots !!!) for the winners. His fellow American import power forward Sterling Manley (213-1998, college: UNC) chipped in 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks. Swingman Jonatan Bello (195-2001, agency: BMS Sport Agency) produced 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Marineros will play next round against strong Metros trying to get back on the winning streak. Reales will try to continue on its current victory against Titanes in San Cristobal.
Caneros recorded a loss in La Romana. Hosts were defeated by Metros 94-86. Worth to mention a great performance of center Eloy Vargas (211-1988, college: Kentucky, agency: BIG) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Emmitt Williams contributed with 16 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Yeison Colome (190-1996, agency: BMS Sport Agency) answered with 25 points for Caneros. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Metros will play against Marineros in Puerto Plata in the next round. Caneros will play on the road against Indios in San Francisco and hope to get back on the winning track.
A very close game took place in San Cristobal between Indios and Titanes. Indios got a very close victory on the road over Titanes. Indios managed to escape with a 2-point win 93-91 on Tuesday evening. Tony Farmer stepped up and scored 21 points and 6 assists for the winners. At the losing side Richard Bautista responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 6 steals. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Indios will meet at home Caneros in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Titanes will play against Reales and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
