Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Metros (8-6) in Puerto Plata on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by sixth ranked Marineros (7-7) 84-78. Marineros looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Metros' players. It was a good game for American forward Sydney Curry (203-2000, college: GCU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. Swingman Jonatan Bello (195-2001) contributed with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Juan Guerrero (203-1993) replied with 25 points and 6 rebounds for Metros. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Marineros moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Titanes. Metros at the other side still keep top position with six games lost.
Important game to mention about took place in Santo Domingo. Eighth ranked Leones (7-6) saved a 1-point victory at home edging second-best Caneros (7-6) 83-82 in the game for the second place. Worth to mention a great performance of center Eloy Vargas (211-1988, college: Kentucky, agency: BIG) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds and Gerardo Suero who added 19 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) during the contest. The best for the losing side was American swingman Andre Norris (203-1994, college: Dubuque) with 20 points and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Leones have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Caneros and Indios.
A very close game took place in La Vega between Leones and Reales. Eighth ranked Leones (7-6) got a very close victory on the road over 7th ranked Reales (5-8). Leones managed to escape with a 2-point win 95-93 on Thursday evening. The winners were led by Gerardo Suero who scored that evening 21 points and 8 assists. Even 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists by Michael Henry did not help to save the game for Reales. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Leones have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Caneros and Indios. Reales lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with eight games lost.

In the last two games of round 12 Soles were beaten by Titanes on the road 78-70. Indios won against Reales on its own court 95-87.
The most impressive performance of 12th round was 16 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists by Jaison Valdez of Leones.



Leones - Caneros 83-82

Titanes - Soles 78-70

Everything could happen in San Cristobal at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Titanes and 5th ranked Soles had identical 6-7 record. This time Titanes used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Santo Domingo 78-70 on Wednesday night. The winners were led by American guard Mustapha Heron (196-1997, college: St.John's) who scored that evening 23 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and naturalized Spanish power forward Jhonatan Araujo (206-1996) supported him with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Even 14 points and 8 rebounds by American guard Tristan Jarrett (193-1998, college: Jackson St., agency: Sport Avenir) did not help to save the game for Soles. Power forward Jean Quezada (206-2000) added 12 points and 8 rebounds. Five Titanes and four Soles players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Titanes went down to fifth position due to points difference, which they share with Marineros. Loser Soles dropped to the seventh place with eight games lost.

Very expected game when 7th ranked Reales (5-8) lost to third ranked Indios (7-6) in San Francisco 87-95 on Wednesday. The winners were led by American guard Ramon Galloway (190-1991, college: La Salle) who scored that evening 27 points and 5 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and the other American import swingman Adrio Bailey (197-1997, college: Arkansas) supported him with 19 points and 6 rebounds. Indios' coach Leandro Hiriart used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 22 points and 6 rebounds by naturalized American forward Antonio Pena (204-1986, college: Villanova) did not help to save the game for Reales. American guard Michael Henry (198-1995, college: Buffalo St.) added 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Indios and five Reales players scored in double figures. Indios moved-up to second place, which they share with Caneros and Leones. Reales lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with eight games lost.

A very close game took place in La Vega between Leones and Reales. Eighth ranked Leones (7-6) got a very close victory on the road over 7th ranked Reales (5-8). Leones managed to escape with a 2-point win 95-93 on Thursday evening. Leones looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The winners were led by naturalized American Gerardo Suero (196-1989, college: Albany) who scored that evening 21 points and 8 assists and point guard Jaison Valdez (188-1995) supported him with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Even 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) by American guard Michael Henry (198-1995, college: Buffalo St.) did not help to save the game for Reales. His fellow American import Robert Glenn (203-1988, college: IUPUI) added 16 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures.
