The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Metros (10-2) in La Romana on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by fifth ranked Caneros (5-7) 80-78. Eusebio Suero scored 16 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Reymond Bastardo chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American swingman Jordan Hall (203-2002, college: St.Joseph's) responded with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Caneros maintains fifth position with 5-7 record. Metros at the other side still keep top place with two games lost. They share the position with Indios. Caneros are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Soles (#9) in Santo Domingo in the next round. Metros will have a break next round.
Important game to mention about took place in Puerto Plata. Seventh ranked Marineros (5-6) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 5th ranked Reales (4-6) 93-91 on Tuesday evening. Forward Andersson Mejia (201-2000, college: Texas A&M) notched a double-double by scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the effort and Andres Fulgencio supported him with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Even 31 points and 8 rebounds by American guard Malachi Richardson (197-1996, college: Syracuse) did not help to save the game for Reales. Reales' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Marineros moved-up to fourth place. Reales lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Titanes. Marineros will again play against Reales (#6) in La Vega in the next round. Reales will have a break next round.

Leones managed to escape with a 3-point win 93-90 on Tuesday evening. Angel Gerardo Suero fired 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Romeao Ferguson produced 26 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Leones maintains eighth position with 4-8 record. Defending champion Titanes keep the sixth place with six games lost. They share the position with Reales. Leones will again meet higher ranked Titanes (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Titanes will have a break next round.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 10: Marineros lost to Indios on the opponent's court 87-95. Indios outscored Soles in a home game 131-102. Caneros recorded a loss to Metros on the road 94-79.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 17 points and 5 assists by Adris De Leon of Metros.




Caneros - Metros 80-78

Very expected game in San Francisco where 7th ranked Marineros (5-6) were defeated by second ranked Indios (10-2) 95-87 on Sunday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Indios made 7 blocks. Luismal Ferreiras (200-2003) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. American guard BJ Fitzgerald (198-2000, college: Virginia St.) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four Indios players scored in double figures. Forward Andersson Mejia (201-2000, college: Texas A&M) produced a double-double by scoring 31 points, 17 rebounds and 8 assists and American guard Andres Fulgencio (193, college: Adelphi) added 17 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Indios have a solid three-game winning streak. They used an opportunity after Metros lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Loser Marineros dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. Indios will meet at home Heroes (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Marineros will play against Reales in La Vega and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
