The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Indios as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Indios defeated 3rd placed Heroes in San Francisco 101-87. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Heroes. Indios looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Charles Brown Jr (198-1997, college: St.Joseph's) who scored 30 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). His fellow American import guard BJ Fitzgerald (198-2000, college: Virginia St.) chipped in 16 points and 9 assists. American forward Jack Clark (208-2000, college: VCU, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 16 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Indios have a solid series of four victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Newly promoted Heroes keep the third place with five games lost. Heroes will play next round against Marineros trying to get back on the winning streak. Indios will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
The game in La Vega was also worth to mention about. 4th placed Marineros (5-7) played at the court of sixth ranked Reales (5-6). Reales managed to secure a 5-point victory 85-80. Guinean-American forward Sekou Sylla (195-2000, college: Towson) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds. Ramon Galloway contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Andersson Mejia (201-2000, college: Texas A&M) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for Marineros. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Reales moved-up to fifth place. Marineros at the other side dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. Reales will play against bottom-ranked Soles (#9) in Santo Domingo in the next round. Marineros will play at home against Heroes and hope to get back on the winning track.
A very close game took place in Santo Domingo between Caneros and Soles. Sixth ranked Caneros (6-7) got a very close victory on the road over 9th ranked Soles (2-10). Caneros managed to escape with a 3-point win 115-112 on Friday evening. It was a great evening for Yeison Colome who led his team to a victory scoring 41 points (!!!). Jonathan Bello responded with 26 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Caneros moved-up to fourth place. Soles lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Caneros will meet Titanes (#8) in the next round. Soles will play against Reales and hope to secure a win.
In the last game of round 11 Leones defeated Titanes in Santo Domingo 98-90.
