Omar Silverio (ex Metros) is a newcomer at Estudiantes

Movistar Estudiantes Madrid (Primera FEB) added 26-year-old American guard Omar Silverio to their roster for the 2025-26 season. Silverio, who also holds a Dominican Republic passport, played for Metros in the LNB league in the Dominican Republic last season. He averaged 12.1ppg, 2.3rpg, and 3.7apg in 15 games. He was voted to the Dominican Republic LNB All-Star Game and the Dominican Republic League All-Star Game. Silverio previously played for Coviran Granada and Surne Bilbao in the Liga Endesa.
Silverio is a highly experienced player. Thanks to his pro career, he has played on three continents (Europe, Latin America, and North America) in four countries. He has also played professionally in Israel (Galil Elion), Mexico, and Venezuela (Cocodrilos).
His team made it to the CAA Tournament Semifinals in 2021.
Silverio graduated from West Virginia University in 2023 and it will be his third season as a pro player. He played for other colleges such as Hofstra University and the University of Rhode Island.
