Ratiopharm Ulm (BBL) added 26-year-old Dominican Rep. center Joel Soriano (211cm-118kg-2000, college: St. John's) to their roster. He started the season at Casademont Zaragoza in Spanish Liga Endesa. In 15 games, he recorded 7.5ppg and 3.4rpg. He also played 9 games in FIBA Europe Cup, averaging 6.7ppg and 3.1rpg. Last season, he played for another Spanish team, Valencia (Liga Endesa).
Soriano's career allowed him to visit three different continents. He played professionally in Puerto Rico (Santeros) and the NBA G League (Greensboro Swarm) during his time as a pro basketball player in Europe, Latin America, and North America.
Among many awards, he played in the final of the Spanish League in 2025. Soriano was voted the All-Big East Most Improved Player of the Year back in 2023 during his college time.
He graduated from St. John's University in 2024 and is currently in his second season as a professional player. Soriano also played for Fordham University for 2 years.
