The most interesting game of round 10 was a home defeat of 5th ranked Cuenca (1-7) by fourth ranked Ambato S. (2-6) who outscored them by 15 points 101-86 in the game for the fourth place. Center Kevin Preciado (-2007) scored 35 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Shirmane Jeaquan (191-1994, college: GSU) chipped in 21 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side American forward Michael Kirkland (203-1998, college: BENUM, agency: Fully Feared Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Newly promoted Ambato S. maintains fourth position with 2-6 record. Cuenca lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with seven games lost.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Guayaquil. 3rd ranked host Iccan (3-5) lost to second ranked Deportivo Gold (7-1) 100-87. American forward Elias Cave (201, college: Minot St.) notched 33 points (!!!) to lead the effort and Darol Hernandez-Zinenko supported him with 15 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Even 25 points by the former international Adrian Rivadeneira (186-2001) did not help to save the game for Iccan. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Deportivo Gold have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Alvarado. Iccan at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the third place with five games lost.
