Silvia Vega claims Salvadorean Liga Mayor weekly honour

Talented Silvia Vega (176-C-2003) put on an amazing game in the last round for Salvadorenas 2 and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Liga Mayor Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 20-year old center had a double-double of 30 points and thirteen rebounds, while her team outclassed LMMR 2 (#4, 4-6) with 32-point margin 109-77. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Salvadorenas 2 maintains the 3rd position in Salvadorean Liga Mayor. Salvadorenas 2 is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-6 record. Vega turned to be Salvadorenas 2's top player in her first season with the team. Vega has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (9th best: 15.7ppg), rebounds (5th best: 11.8rpg) and averages solid 3.3spg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-C-1984) of league's best team San Salvador. Boulet impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 27 points and 23 rebounds. Of course San Salvador cruised to a 74-67 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Santa Tecla 2 (#2, 8-2). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. San Salvador consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. She plays for the best team in the league and San Salvador managed to win all 10 games keeping a perfect record. Boulet is a newcomer at San Salvador and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.2ppg (#2). She also registered 12.5 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Monica Aristondo (163-SG-1992) of second-ranked Santa Tecla 2. Aristondo got into 30-points club by scoring 34 points in the last round. She went also for ten assists. She was a key player of Santa Tecla 2, leading her team to a 104-45 easy win against Santa Ana 2 (#6, 0-11). Santa Tecla 2 is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 8-2 record is not that bad... Aristondo has a great season in El Salvador. After 10 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.7ppg (5th best).
