L.M.Mons. looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Dominican swingman Yenifer Jimenez (163-1999) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 18 rebounds, 7 assists and 7 steals. Monica Calderon (175-1991) contributed with 14 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Forward Jennifer Ramirez (170-1997) answered with 9 points, 16 rebounds and 5 blocks for Santa Ana. L.M.Mons. maintains fifth place with 5-9 record, which they share with Ahuachapan. Santa Ana lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Salvadorenas (11-3) against fourth ranked Metapan (9-5) on Sunday night. Visiting Salvadorenas were crushed by Metapan in Metapan 82-59. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Salvadorenas. Cuban center Rachel Contreras (184-1999) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners and Monica Aristondo chipped in 29 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side Costa Rican point guard Gabriela Alvarado (177-1997) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Anisleidy Galindo nailed a triple-double by scoring 25 points, 16 rebounds, 12 assists and 4 steals for the winning side.
