Liga Mayor Round 2 (Regular Season): LMMR 2 is upset by Salvadorenas 2

There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in Liga Mayor. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most important game in the last round took place in Santa Ana between LMMR 2 and Salvadorenas 2 on Friday night. LMMR 2 was crushed by Salvadorenas 2 at home 95-70. Salvadorenas 2 dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to LMMR 2's 40. Salvadorenas 2 forced 30 LMMR 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 46-28 including 19 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Cuban Bexy Claro (193-2001) who had a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 19 rebounds. Naturalized American Emily Tevez (175-1993, college: NDN) chipped in 26 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. Cuban point guard Dairis Tornell (176-1992) produced 25 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Salvadorenas 2 is looking forward to face San Salvador at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. LMMR 2 will play against Santa Ana 2 and is hoping to win this game.
The game in supposed to be also worth to mention about. San Salvador played at the court of Santa Ana 2. San Salvador smashed Santa Ana 2 88-35. Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-1984) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Adriana Rivas contributed with 19 points and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Fabiola Rivera (162-2006) replied with 3 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for Santa Ana 2. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. San Salvador will play against Salvadorenas 2 in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Santa Ana 2 will play against LMMR 2 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 2 winless Santa Tecla 2 lost to undefeated Batanecas in a road game 43-52.

Batanecas - Santa Tecla 2 52-43

There was no surprise when Santa Tecla 2 was defeated on the road by Batanecas 52-43. Batanecas held Santa Tecla 2 to an opponent 19.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 27.5 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Santa Tecla 2 59-37 including a 43-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Batanecas brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. Cuban center Rachel Contreras (184-1999) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 19 rebounds and 5 blocks. Forward Nicky Ayala (171-2005) contributed with 3 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Monica Aristondo (163-1992) replied with 13 points and forward Camila Lima (172-2003) added 7 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Santa Tecla 2. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
