Gabriela Escobar claims Salvadorean Liga Mayor weekly honour

Talented Gabriela Escobar (162-G-2007) had a great game in the last round for Salvadorenas 2nd team and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Liga Mayor Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 17-year old guard had the game-high 17 points adding seven rebounds and eight assists for Salvadorenas 2 in her team's victory, helping them to crush LMMR 2 (#6, 2-3) with 19-point margin 76-57. Salvadorenas 2 is placed at 5th position in Salvadorean Liga Mayor. Salvadorenas 2 is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-2 record. In the team's last game Escobar had a remarkable 63.6% from 2-point range. She has many years of experience at Salvadorenas 2, through which she has constantly improved. Escobar has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in assists (5th best: 5.0apg) and averages solid 60.6% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Cuban center Rachel Contreras (184-C-1999) of Batanecas BC. The third best performed player last round was Cuban Eugenia Fraguela (1996) of Liga Municipal Monsenor Romero 2nd team (#6). Fraguela got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. She went also for nine rebounds . Despite Fraguela's great performance the LMMR 2 lost 57-76 to slightly higher-ranked Salvadorenas 2 (#5, 2-2). But her team cannot count on just a single shooter as she also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of LMMR 2 ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 3 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Fraguela could help LMMR 2 to bring them higher in the standings. Fraguela has a great season in El Salvador. After only 5 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.8ppg (5th best) and rebounds with 10.2rpg (8th best).
