Salvadorean Liga Mayor round 13 best performance: Elianis Armenteros (by Hoops Agents)

Cuban Guard Elianis Armenteros (175-G-2000) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Ahuachapan BC, receiving a Hoops Agents Liga Mayor Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 24-year old player got a double-double of 54 points and 10 assists, while her team beat LMMR 2 (#6, 7-9) 107-102. Ahuachapan maintains the 8th position in Salvadorean Liga Mayor. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 13 games and recorded just two victories. In the team's last game Armenteros had a remarkable 60.9% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. She turned to be Ahuachapan's top player in her first season with the team. Elianis Armenteros has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (4th best: 26.6ppg), assists (5th best: 5.5apg) and averages impressive 52.9% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was another Ahuachapan's star - young Cuban Dairis Tornell (176-PG-1992). Tornell had a very good evening with 40 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. It was enough for Ahuachapan BC to edge slightly higher-ranked LMMR 2 (#6, 7-9) 107-102. Ahuachapan's 8th position in the standings has not changed. 13 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Ahuachapan managed to get this year. Tornell is a newcomer at Ahuachapan, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 28.9ppg (#3). She also registered 5.6 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was Cuban Eugenia Fraguela (1996) of Liga Municipal Monsenor Romero 2nd team (#6). Fraguela got into 30-points club by scoring 34 points in the last round. She went also for thirteen rebounds and six assists. Despite Fraguela's great performance the LMMR 2 lost 102-107 to slightly lower-ranked Ahuachapan (#8, 2-13). But her team cannot count on just a single shooter as she also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of LMMR 2 ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 9 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Fraguela could help LMMR 2 to bring them higher in the standings. Fraguela has a great season in El Salvador. After 16 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 25.9ppg (5th best) and rebounds with 12.1rpg (4th best).
