Liga Mayor top team - Batanecas (6-2) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat fifth ranked LMMR 2 (4-4) in Santa Ana 58-53. Batanecas held LMMR 2 to an opponent 24.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 31.9 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded LMMR 2 56-44 including 16 on the offensive glass. Batanecas looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for Cuban center Rachel Contreras (184-1999) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists. Liga Mayor top team - San Salvador (8-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked PSN (2-7) 96-59. Cuban point guard Arlenys Romero (176-1984) stepped up and scored 24 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and Anisleidys Martinez chipped in 16 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. San Salvador's coach Rainel Panfet felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Guatemalan swingman Genesis Catalan (176-1994) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for San Salvador. They maintain first place with 8-0 record. PSN lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the bottom position with seven games lost.
