Contreras' double-double lands her Liga Mayor Player of the Week award

25-year old Cuban center Rachel Contreras (184-C-1999) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Batanecas BC and receives a Hoops Agents Liga Mayor Player of the Week award for round 11.
She had a double-double of 25 points and 31 rebounds, while her team beat Santa Ana 2 (#5, 4-5) 67-62. Batanecas maintains the 2nd position in Salvadorean league. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Batanecas will need more victories to improve their 7-2 record. Contreras just recently signed at Batanecas, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Contreras has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (3rd best: 24.2ppg) and averages solid 1.6bpg and 53.0% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Yenifer Jimenez (163-SG-1999) of Ahuachapan BC. She is Dominican Rep. guard in her first season at Ahuachapan. In the last game Jimenez recorded an impressive double-double of 25 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Ahuachapan lost that game 61-69 to the higher-ranked Salvadorenas 2 (#3, 6-4). Ahuachapan is still second from the bottom in the standings. 7 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Ahuachapan managed to get this year. Jimenez is one of the most experienced players at Ahuachapan and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 29.3ppg (#1). Her other stats are also decent: 11.7rpg and 5.1apg.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Arlenys Romero (176-PG-1984) of league's leader San Salvador. Romero scored 24 points and passed 4 assists. She was a key player of San Salvador, leading her team to a 90-46 easy win against #4 ranked LMMR 2 in a game of the week. San Salvador have amazing season winning all 10 games without a single defeat. Romero turns to be one of the very best players in the league while she is also a leader of the top team having her eyes on the championship title. Romero has a great season in El Salvador. After 10 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.5ppg (4th best) and assists with 4.5apg (5th best).
