The Regular Season in Liga Mayor is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 3 rounds. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 6th ranked PSN (3-9) to fourth ranked Santa Ana 2 (6-5) 73-70 on Sunday evening. Santa Ana 2 made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Cuban point guard Dairis Tornell (176-1992) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Monica Aristondo (163-1992) chipped in 19 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. Santa Ana 2's coach Melvin Marroquin used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Guatemalan swingman Genesis Catalan (176-1994) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds for lost side. Santa Ana 2 maintains fourth place with 6-5 record. PSN at the other side keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. Santa Ana 2 are looking forward to face higher ranked Salvadorenas 2 (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. PSN will have a break next round.

Genesis Catalan contributed with 14 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. point guard Maritza Munguia (150-2008) answered with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for LMMR 2. PSN maintains sixth place with 3-9 record. LMMR 2 lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with seven games lost. PSN will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. LMMR 2 will play against Santa Ana 2 (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Santa Ana supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Salvadorenas 2 (7-4) played at the court of 5th ranked LMMR 2 (4-7). Salvadorenas 2 smashed LMMR 2 75-51 on Sunday. Gabriela Alfaro stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists and 7 steals for the winners. Salvadorenas 2's coach Ernesto Rodriguez felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Yadira Polanco responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds. Salvadorenas 2 maintains third place with 7-4 record having four points less than leader San Salvador. LMMR 2 lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with seven games lost. Salvadorenas 2 will meet Santa Ana 2 (#4) in the next round. LMMR 2 will play against Santa Ana 2 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 13 PSN was defeated by Batanecas in a road game 64-49.

Batanecas - PSN 64-49

There was no surprise when 6th ranked PSN (3-9) was defeated on the road by second ranked Batanecas (9-2) 64-49 on Saturday. Batanecas outrebounded PSN 61-42 including a 40-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. Cuban center Rachel Contreras (184-1999) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 24 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and forward Ariela Cortez (174-2004) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Batanecas players scored in double figures. Batanecas' coach Joel Lozano allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side Guatemalan Mishelle Garcia responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and Majo Charles scored 4 points and 7 assists. Batanecas have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 9-2 record having just two points less than leader San Salvador. Loser PSN keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. Batanecas will meet Ahuachapan (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. PSN will have a break next round.
