The biggest surprise of round 16 was guest PSN's (#6) road victory over Santa Tecla 2 (#8) 54-52 on Saturday evening. Guatemalan center Noor Aranki (175-2002) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Guatemalan Mishelle Garcia chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. point guard Paola Campos (165-2001) produced 21 points for lost side. PSN maintains sixth position with 4-10 record, which they share with Ahuachapan. Santa Tecla 2 at the other side stay at the bottom place with 11 games lost.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in San Salvador. Top-ranked San Salvador faced 4th ranked Santa Ana 2. Host San Salvador (14-0) smashed guests from (8-6) 101-63. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Santa Ana 2. Worth to mention a great performance of Cuban point guard Arlenys Romero (176-1984) who helped to win the game recording 34 points (!!!) and 7 assists. Anisleidys Martinez contributed with 22 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Cuban point guard Dairis Tornell (176-1992) replied with 21 points and 5 rebounds for Santa Ana 2. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated San Salvador have an impressive 14-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 14-0 record. Santa Ana 2 at the other side keeps the fourth place with six games lost.
The game in Ahuachapan was also quite interesting. 5th ranked LMMR 2 (5-9) played at the court of seventh ranked Ahuachapan (4-10). Ahuachapan defeated LMMR 2 70-58 on Sunday. Worth to mention a great performance of Vanessa Bautista who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points, 29 rebounds and 4 blocks. Ahuachapan's coach Elvis Cortez used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Monica Calderon responded with 26 points and 8 rebounds. Ahuachapan moved-up to sixth place, which they share with PSN. Loser LMMR 2 keeps the fifth position with nine games lost.
In the last game of round 16 PSN was defeated by Salvadorenas 2 in a road game 62-53.
