Cuban Center Rachel Contreras (184-C-1999) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked AD Isidro Metapan, receiving a Hoops Agents Liga Mayor Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 26-year old player had a double-double of 29 points and 22 rebounds, while her team edged out Santa Ana (#5, 1-2) 70-67. It allowed Metapan to take over top position in the Salvadorean Liga Mayor. The season is still on an early stage, but Metapan already had a very good start winning all 3 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Contreras had a remarkable 55.6% from 2-point range. She just recently signed at Metapan, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Rachel Contreras has solid league stats. She is league's best scorer averaging so far 23.3ppg and leads league in rebounds with 21.7rpg. Contreras is in league's top in and averages impressive 1.7bpg and 56.5% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Cuban Dairis Tornell (176-PG-1992) of Santa Ana. Tornell had a very good evening with a double-double of 32 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Santa Ana was edged by Metapan (3-0) 70-67. The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Tornell is a newcomer at Santa Ana, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.0ppg (#6). She also registered 7.3 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was center Silvia Vega (176-C-2003) of league's second-best Salvadorenas. Vega scored 12 points and grabbed 20 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Salvadorenas, leading her team to a 51-48 win against Santa Tecla (#8, 0-3). Salvadorenas started extremely well this year. They recorded 3 victories without losing a single game. Vega turns to be one of the very best players in the league while she is also a leader of the top team having her eyes on the championship title. Vega has a great season in El Salvador. After only 3 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 15.3rpg (2nd best).
