Anisleidy Galindo claims Salvadorean Liga Mayor Hoops Agents weekly honour

Anisleidy Galindo had an amazing evening in the last round for league's second-best San Salvador and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Liga Mayor Player of the Week award for round 6.
The had a double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds, while her team beat Metapan (#3, 5-1) 73-58. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. San Salvador maintains the 2nd position in Salvadorean Liga Mayor. They are still close to the very top. San Salvador would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 6-1 record. Galindo just recently signed at San Salvador, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Galindo has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (8th best: 17.7ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 15.7rpg) and averages solid 1.3bpg,3.7spg and 55.0% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Cuban center Rachel Contreras (184-C-1999) of AD Isidro Metapan. Contreras impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 25 points and 20 rebounds. Bad luck as Metapan lost that game 58-73 to slightly higher-ranked San Salvador (#2, 6-1). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Metapan still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. It was just her team's 1st loss this season, while they won 5 other games. Contreras is one of the most experienced players at Metapan and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.0ppg (#2). She also registered 20.7 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Cuban Dairis Tornell (176-PG-1992) of Santa Ana (#6). Tornell showcased her all-around game by recording 27 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists in the last round. Despite Tornell's great performance the Santa Ana lost 66-74 to slightly higher-ranked L.M.Mons. (#5, 3-4). But her team cannot count on just a single shooter as she also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Santa Ana not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 4 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Tornell could try to bring Santa Ana's a little bit higher in the standings. Tornell has individually a great season in El Salvador. After only 6 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.2ppg (4th best) and assists with 4.3apg (8th best).
