Zabaleta's double-double lands her Liga Mayor Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

23-year old Ecuadorian center Genesis Zabaleta (180-C-2002) put on an amazing game in the last round for ITD Santa Tecla and receives a Hoops Agents Liga Mayor Player of the Week award for round 7.
She had a double-double of 15 points and 37 rebounds, while her team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Capitalinas (#8, 0-7) with 38-point margin 64-26. Santa Tecla maintains the 6th position in Salvadorean league. Santa Tecla is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-4 record. Zabaleta just recently signed at Santa Tecla, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Zabaleta has impressive league stats. She leads league in rebounds with 22.3rpg. Zabaleta is in league's top in assists (6th best: 5.0apg) and averages solid 2.0bpg and 4.3spg.

Second best performed player last round was Ruth Aracena (180-F-1999) of Santa Ana. She is Dominican Rep. forward in her first season at Santa Ana. In the last game Aracena recorded an impressive triple-double of 26 points, 21 rebounds and 10 assists. Of course she led Santa Ana to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Ahuachapan (#7, 1-6) 99-57. This victory allowed Santa Ana to move up to 5th position in the standings. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-4 record. Aracena is a newcomer at Santa Ana and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another Santa Ana's star - guard Dairis Tornell (176-PG-1992). Tornell showcased her all-around game by recording 29 points, 14 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last round. She was another key player of Santa Ana, helping her team with a 99-57 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Ahuachapan (#7, 1-6). The chances of Santa Ana ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 4 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Tornell could help Santa Ana to bring them higher in the standings. Tornell has a great season in El Salvador. After only 7 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.3ppg (3rd best) and assists with 4.4apg (7th best).
