San Salvador dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Santa Ana's 28. They outrebounded Santa Ana 57-30 including a 23-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. San Salvador looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Santa Ana's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Anisleidy Galindo who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points, 17 rebounds and 8 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Cuban point guard Arlenys Romero (176-1984) contributed with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 14 assists for the winners. San Salvador's coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Vanessa Hernandez (157-1997) replied with 24 points and 5 rebounds for Santa Ana. San Salvador (9-1) have an impressive nine-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Santa Ana at the other side dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. They share the position with L.M.Mons. and Ahuachapan. Santa Ana will play next round against strong Salvadorenas trying to get back on the winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with L.M.Mons. and Santa Ana. Loser Metapan keeps the third position with four games lost. Ahuachapan will meet league's leader San Salvador on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Metapan will play against Capitalinas and hope to secure a win.
