Dominican Republic - Brazil 58-74
Brazil knocked down Dominican Republic for the opening victory at the tournament. Gabriel Galvanini (203-G/F-98) netted 25 points and grabbed 8 rebounds for the winning side. Brazil surged ahead for a 39:24 halftime lead. They boosted the gap at 21-point mark at the final intermission and eased to the win. Rafael Monteiro (198-G/F-98) tossed in 11 points for the winners. Daniel Vitiello (178-PG-99) responded with 14 points for Dominican Republic.

Argentina - Canada 58-92
Canada got to the winning start in Valdivia. They stormed past Argentina in the opener. Lindell Wigginton (187-PG-98) posted 21 points to lead the North American side. Canada dropped 29 points in the second term to open a 15-point halftime lead. They went on a 29:10 run in the third term to clear off for good. Nickeil Alexander-Walker (195-G-98) produced 17 points in the win. Lautaro Berra (208-C/F-98) responded with 14 points for Argentina.

Group B
Chile - U.S. Virgin Islands 68-45
Hosting Chile secured the first victory in Valdivia. They dropped US Virgin Islands in the opening game. Ignacio Arroyo (185-G-00) provided 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Chile held their opponents to just 4 points in the first period to secure a 13-point lead. They kept US Virgin Islands at bay throughout the next periods and raced to the win. Felipe Haase (205-F/C-98) tossed in 12 points for the winners. Nicolas Claxton (201-G/F-99) responded with 9 points and 9 rebounds for US Virgin Islands.

Puerto Rico - USA 70-103
The USA breezed past Puerto Rico at the start of championship. Mitchell Porter (203-G-98) delivered 20 points for the winners. The USA eased to a 46:26 halftime lead. They sank 57 points in the second half and drove to the victory. Jarrett Allen (200-F-98) provided 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Christian Negron (200-F/C-98) responded with 23 points and 13 rebounds for Puerto Rico.
