Argentina - Canada 58-92
Canada got to the winning start in Valdivia. They stormed past Argentina in the opener. Lindell Wigginton (187-PG-98) posted 21 points to lead the North American side. Canada dropped 29 points in the second term to open a 15-point halftime lead. They went on a 29:10 run in the third term to clear off for good. Chile - U.S. Virgin Islands 68-45
Hosting Chile secured the first victory in Valdivia. They dropped US Virgin Islands in the opening game. Ignacio Arroyo (185-G-00) provided 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Chile held their opponents to just 4 points in the first period to secure a 13-point lead. They kept US Virgin Islands at bay throughout the next periods and raced to the win. Puerto Rico - USA 70-103
