USA breeze past Argentina to conquer title in Buenos Aires

USA are crowned champions in Buenos Aires. They stormed past Argentina in the championship game. Darius Acuff (188-PG-2006) came up with 26 points, 9 assists and 6 rebounds for the champions. USA dominated from start to finish. They established a 52-36 halftime lead. They unloaded 58 points in the second half and cruised to the win. Jasper Johnson (193-F/G-2006) contributed 19 points in the victory. Tyler Kropp (204-PF-2007) responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds for Argentina.

3-4 Place

Dominican Republic - Canada 67-89
Canada outscored Dominican Republic to earn the third position in Buenos Aires. Canada built a 46-40 halftime lead. They went on a 43-27 second half rally to ice the victory. Efeosa Oliogu (196-SF-2006, college: St.Scholastica) came up with 23 points, while Spencer Ahrens (206-PF-2006) added 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Fernando De Los Santos (192-G-2006) answered with 17 points for Dominican Republic.

5-6 Place

Venezuela - Brazil 64-66
Brazil nipped Venezuela to ensure the fifth-place finish at the championship. Brazil ensured a 19-10 lead after ten minutes. Venezuela cut the deficit in the second half but came up short of win at the end. Matheus Monteiro finished with 15 points, while Joao Neves (200-SF-2008) added 13 points for the winners. Anthony Reyes (180-F-2006) answered with 18 points for Venezuela.

7-8 Place

Belize - Puerto Rico 51-79
Puerto Rico claimed the 7th position in Buenos Aires. They cruised past Belize in the final game at the championship. Puerto Rico built a 36-29 halftime lead. They went on a 43-22 rally in the second half to seal the win. Alejandro Aviles (206-C/F-2006) posted 18 points and 13 rebounds, while Brandon Lee added 16 points for Puerto Rico. Devin Moody (193-G-2006) connected for 12 points in the loss.
