Bahamas and Jamaica to clash for title in Tortola

Barbados - Bahamas 53-57
Bahamas gunned down Barbados to reach the title game. Philicia Kelly (175-F-89) came up with 18 points to pace the winners. Barbados got to a flying start to the game. They recorded a 15:6 lead ten minutes into the game. Barbados maintained the advantage throughout the second period. They established a 27:18 halftime advantage. Bahamas narrowed the distance at 8-point mark before the fourth period. They followed with a decisive 20:8 surge in the final frame to celebrate victory. Sha-Londa Neely (187-C) accounted for 13 points, 15 boards and 7 steals, while Shanea Armbrister (180-F) added 12 points for Bahamas. Toni Atherley (173-G-83, college: Fresno St.), Jamila Studer-Griffith (183-G/F-82, college: Md-E Shore) and Dale-Marie Cumberbatch (180-F-88) scored 12 points each for Barbados.

U.S. Virgin Islands - Jamaica 52-61
Jamaica silenced US Virgin Islands in the semifinal clash in Tortola. Yanique Gordon posted 19 points to lead Jamaica into the championship clash. Jamaica looked dominant in the first half. They registered a 29:13 halftime advantage. US Virgin Islands narrowed the gap at 11-point mark before the fourth quarter. They dropped 22 points in the final period but Jamaica withheld the challenge and sealed the victory. Tarita Gordon provided 18 points for the winners. Brittney Matthew (170-G) responded with 13 points for US Virgin Islands. Victoria Hamilton (178-G-91) had 12 points and 14 rebounds in the loss.

5-8 Place
Antigua - Guyana 68-57
Antigua earned the second victory in Tortola. They beat Guyana in the classification round. Amanda Edwards (175-F-88) chipped in 20 points and 6 steals for the winners. Antigua will now take on Saint Vincent for the fifth overall position. The teams stayed close throughout the first half. Antigua built a 30:27 halftime advantage. They stretched the gap at 5-point mark at the final intermission and never looked back en route to the win. Arrianne Whyte (180-C) delivered 15 points and 8 rebounds for Antigua. Miriam McKenzie (177-G-90, agency: Regeneracom Sports, college: Loyola, MD) answered with game-high 35 points for Guyana.

Saint Vincent - British Virgin Islands 71-67
Saint Vincent prevailed against British Virgin Islands to set up the clash versus Antigua for the 5th overall position at the tournament. Vasha Adams (183-F/C-83) posted 22 points and 14 rebounds to lead the winners. British Virgin Islands snatched an 18:17 lead after ten minutes. But Saint Vincent responded with an 18:9 run in the second term to surge ahead. They maintained the lead throughout the second half and snatched the victory. Sheldeen Joseph (167-G-92) bagged 21 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Tamara Phillip (185-G, college: Cent.Arizona JC) responded with impressive 27 points, 29 rebounds and 9 assists for British Virgin Islands.
