Liga Metropolitan is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 2 rounds left. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Forza at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were rolled over by Halcones 92-61. Halcones dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Forza's 24. They outrebounded Forza 48-34 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Point guard David Monterroso (180-1979) had a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Mario Reyes (-2001) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Center Helmut Esquivel (196-2000) responded with 22 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Halcones are looking forward to face Villa Nueva Jrs on the road in the next round. Forza will play against Circulo and is hoping to win this game.
Very significant was Coeindeguasa's 53-43 road victory against Circulo. Yordic Velazquez (-1994) notched 12 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and Douglas Letona supported him with 9 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds by Cristian Diaz (-2000) did not help to save the game for Circulo. Circulo's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Coeindeguasa will play against Monjitas BTC in the next round. Circulo will play against Forza to get more than just one victory in their record.
Very important is a road loss of Villa Nueva Jrs against Amatitlan on Thursday night. Visiting Villa Nueva Jrs were crushed by Amatitlan in Amatitlan 71-51. The best player for the winners was Dilan Castillo who scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. Gary Alvarez produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Amatitlan will meet Villa Nueva on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Villa Nueva Jrs will play against Halcones and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
