Memphis Grizzlies (NBA Summer League) strengthened their roster with addition of 22-year old French-Haitian-Haitian 6-6 swingman Yves Pons for season 2021-22. Pons just graduated from Tennessee (NCAA). He has played there for the last four years. Pons helped them to make it to the Lefty Driesell Defensive All-American final. Great season indeed as he was awarded Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Semifinalist and voted to SEC All-Tournament Team and selected to SEC All-Defensive Team.
He has never been drafted by the NBA.
As mentioned above he is just out of the college and it will be his first season in pro basketball.
Pons represented France at the European Championships U20 in Tel Aviv (Israel) two years ago. His team got to the Semifinals and his stats at that event were 7 games: 2.6ppg, 1.6rpg.
