Defending champion Al Kuwait SC (D1) added to their roster 30-year old Haitian center Cady Lalanne (208cm-113kg-1992, college: UMass, agency: BeoBasket) for season 2022-23. Lalanne is the second import player in the roster as U.S. Virgin Islands Marcus Georges-Hunt signed here earlier.
He played last season at Hereda San Pablo Burgos in Spanish LEB Gold. In four Liga Endesa games he recorded 8.0ppg, 7.8rpg, 1.0apg and 1.3bpg. He also played for Suwon KT Sonicboom in South Korean KBL where in 54 games he averaged impressive 17.2ppg, 10.5rpg, 1.2apg and 1.6bpg. He was also named League Player of the Week (9 times).
In 2015 he was drafted by San Antonio Spurs (NBA) in second round (55th overall). The former University of Massachusetts standout is in his eighth season in pro basketball.
Lalanne is quite experienced player. Thanks to Lalanne's pro career he managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America) in eight different countries. He has played previously professionally in China (Golden Bulls), Italy (Brindisi), Puerto Rico (Capitanes and Piratas), Turkey (Besiktas), South Korea (LG Sakers), NBA G League (Austin Spurs) and The Basketball Tournament (Armored Athlete). His team made it to the Atlantic 10 Tournament Semifinals in 2012 and 2013. Lalanne was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Korean KBL Honorable Mention in 2020 and 2021.
