Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.
The most exciting game of round 4 in the LNBPF took place in Aguascalientes. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 5th ranked Panteras (4-4) to third ranked Halcones (4-2) 94-91 in the game for the third place. Halcones made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Panteras turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Montenegrin power forward Kristina Rakovic (186-1994) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 4 steals (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and Greek guard Elena Tsineke (170-1999, college: S.Florida) who added 18 points during the contest. Halcones' coach Maria Fernandez used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side Polish center Kamila Borkowska (201-2002) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Halcones have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 4-2 record having five points less than leader Fuerza Regia. Panteras lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth place with four games lost. They share the position with Freseras. Halcones are looking forward to face Abejas (#7) in Leon in the next round. Panteras will play on the road against Rojas in Veracruz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Halcones (4-2) against fifth ranked Panteras (4-4) on Saturday night. Visiting Halcones were defeated by Panteras in a tough game in Aguascalientes 88-93. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Halcones. Halcones' coach Maria Fernandez tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Panteras moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Freseras. Halcones at the other side keep the third position with two games lost. Panteras will play against Rojas (#6) in Veracruz in the next round. Halcones will play at home against Abejas and hope to get back on the winning track.
