Soles' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side American forward Arinze Chidom (206-1997, college: UC Riverside) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Soles moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Santos. El Calor at the other side keeps the eleventh position with ten games lost. Soles will again play against El Calor (#11) in Cancun in the next round. El Calor will have a break next round.
Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Mineros (9-8) and Halcones Rojos (6-11), which took place in Veracruz. Higher ranked Mineros were outleveled in a road game by thirteenth ranked Halcones Rojos 84-63 on Thursday. Deshawndre Washington notched 23 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort. Even a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds by Ater Majok did not help to save the game for Mineros. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Halc.Rojos moved-up to twelfth place. Loser Mineros keep the eighth position with eight games lost. Halc.Rojos will again meet at home higher ranked Mineros (#8) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Mineros will have a break next round.
