Penguins has finally registered their first victory this season after nine consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Huskys (2-8) 62-45 on Sunday. Penguins forced 26 Huskys turnovers. It was a great evening for Daniela Campuzano who led her team to a victory scoring 15 points and 6 assists. Giselle Medina helped adding 13 points and 7 rebounds. Rachel Ortiz responded with 13 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Penguins maintains ninth place with 1-9 record. Huskys at the other side dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Toritas. Penguins are looking forward to face league's leader Mieleras in Guanajuato in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Huskys will play at home against Dragonas (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
LMBPF top team - Mieleras (12-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Dragonas (4-6) in Toluca 94-45. It was a quality performance for American Veronica Preciado (174-1997, college: CMU) who led the winners and scored 27 points and 6 rebounds. Mayra Gil accounted for 18 points and 5 rebounds. Paola Velazquez came up with 10 points and 8 rebounds for Dragonas in the defeat. Dragonas' coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Undefeated Mieleras have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 12-0 record. Dragonas lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Las Avispas. Mieleras will play against bottom-ranked Penguins (#9) in Mexico City in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dragonas will play on the road against Huskys (#8) in Ciudad de Mexico and hope to get back on the winning track.
In the last two games of round 11 Toritas lost to Univ. Modelo on the opponent's court 62-72. Libelulas outscored Las Avispas in a home game 85-44.
