LNBP Round 27 (Regular Season): Diablos roll over Correcaminos by 30 points

There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in LNBP. The round 27 was rather boring as all games ended with very predictable results. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The game between third ranked Diablos (18-8) and 9th ranked Correcaminos (11-15) in on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Diablos outscored guests from Ciudad Victoria 114-84. Diablos dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Correcaminos' 42. They outrebounded Correcaminos 37-23 including a 27-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Diablos looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Correcaminos' players. It was a good game for Senegalese-American center Malik Dime (206-1992, college: Washington, agency: Slash Sports) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 9 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). American guard Daishon Smith (185-1995, college: ULM) contributed with 23 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Diablos' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Roddy Peters (193-1995, college: Nicholls) answered with 23 points and 4 assists for Correcaminos. Diablos have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 18-8 record having five points less than leader Soles, which they share with Fuerza Regia. Correcaminos at the other side dropped to the eighth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Panteras and El Calor. Diablos is looking forward to face El Calor (#9) in Cancun in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Correcaminos will play on the road against Fuerza Regia in Monterrey and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 27: Panteras were beaten by Fuerza Regia on the road 80-63. Dorados lost to Halc.Xalapa on its own court 76-84. El Calor managed to outperform Gambusinos in Cancun 93-88. Fuerza Regia managed to beat Panteras at home 104-91.
The most impressive performance of 27th round was 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists by Joshua Ibarra of Fuerza Regia.



Fuerza Regia - Panteras 80-63

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Fuerza Regia (18-8) beat 8th ranked Panteras (11-15) in Monterrey 80-63 on Saturday. Fuerza Regia outrebounded Panteras 45-28 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for the former international center Joshua Ibarra (211-1995, college: HCU) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). American forward Lewis Sullivan (201-1995, college: UAB, agency: BIG) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Fuerza Regia players scored in double figures. Argentinian-American Erik Thomas (195-1995, college: New Orleans) answered with 12 points and 7 rebounds and Senegalese center Serigne Barro (208-1995) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Panteras. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fuerza Regia moved-up to third place, which they share with Diablos. Panteras lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Correcaminos and El Calor. Fuerza Regia is looking forward to face Correcaminos (#10) in Ciudad Victoria in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Panteras will play on the road against Mineros in Zacatecas and are hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.

Dorados - Halc.Xalapa 76-84

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 6th ranked Dorados (15-11) lost to seventh ranked Halcones UV Xalapa (13-13) in Chihuahua 76-84 on Saturday. Halc.Xalapa made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. It was a good game for Argentinian-Italian point guard Fernando Zurbriggen (185-1997) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 4 assists. The former international Gabriel Giron (192-1988) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American guard Kenny Hasbrouck (191-1986, college: Siena, agency: Interperformances) answered with 13 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import Tyren Johnson (202-1988, college: Louisiana) added 14 points in the effort for Dorados. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Halc.Xalapa maintains seventh place with 13-13 record. Dorados at the other side keep the sixth position with 11 games lost. Halc.Xalapa are looking forward to face league's leader Soles in Mexicali in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dorados will play on the road against Santos (#12) in San Luis Potosi and are hoping to win this game.

The game between closely ranked teams ended with tenth ranked El Calor's (11-15) road victory over 11th ranked Gambusinos (8-18) 93-88 on Saturday. El Calor made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American Max Landis (188-1993, college: PFW, agency: Promo Sport ID) who led his team to a victory with 23 points. The former international JJ Avila (203-1991, college: Colorado St.) contributed with 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five El Calor players scored in double figures. American guard Bryon Allen (192-1992, college: GMU) answered with 29 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import guard Michael Bryson (193-1994, college: UCSB) added 20 points in the effort for Gambusinos. El Calor moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Correcaminos and Panteras. Loser Gambusinos keep the eleventh position with 18 games lost. El Calor is looking forward to face higher ranked Diablos (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
