The most exciting game of round 27 in the CIBACOPA took place in Tijuana. Avry Holmes contributed with 19 points for the winners. Toros' coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Ruot Monyyong (210-1998, college: UALR) answered with 22 points and 6 rebounds for Frayles. Toros moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Los Mochis and Culiacan. Frayles at the other side keep the second position with 17 games lost. They share it with Obregon.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Ciudad de Mexico. First ranked Astros faced 4th placed Angeles. Guests from Guadalajara (38-2) smashed host Angeles (20-20) 105-61. It was a great evening for Jose Israel-Gutierrez who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Chuba Ohams with 8 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Astros have an impressive series of fourteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 38-2 record. Loser Angeles keep the fourth position with 20 games lost. They share it with Tijuana.

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (16-24) were defeated on the road by seventh ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (18-22) 94-81 on Saturday. Strangely Guaymas outrebounded Culiacan 38-25 including 23 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Culiacan especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Guaymas' players. American players dominated the game. It was a great evening for point guard Roddy Peters (193-1995, college: Nicholls) who led his team to a victory scoring 12 points, 5 rebounds and 17 assists. Power forward Torren Jones (206-1994, college: William Penn) helped adding 21 points and 10 rebounds. Five Caballeros de Culiacan players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Terry Roberts (190-2000, college: Georgia) with 25 points and forward Max Agbonkpolo (206-2000, college: Montana St.) scored 21 points. It was a great evening for Canadian guard Devonte Bandoo (190-1996, college: Baylor) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points and 7 assists. American center Dakota Quinn (206-1997, college: MNU) helped adding 26 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was American center Arnett Moultrie (208-1990, college: MSU) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import power forward Kwame Alexander (201-1990, college: CSUSB, agency: BIG) scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Pioneros Los Mochis' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mazatlan maintains eleventh place with 9-31 record.
