Brumas - Leon 72-64 Very expected game in Jinotega where bottom-ranked Leon (0-5) was defeated by third ranked Brumas (3-2) 72-64 on Friday. Cuban center Marvin Cairo (203-1991) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Dominican Xavier de la Rosa (196-1991) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Brumas players scored in double figures. Brumas' coach Angel Mallona used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American-Panamanian Adalberto Rojas (200-1986) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds and guard Pablo Rivas added 18 points respectively for lost side. Despite that victory Brumas went down to fourth position due to points difference. Loser Leon still closes the standings with five games lost. This time they beat sixth ranked Indigenas (2-3) in Managua 109-97. American Joel Kindred (193-1991, college: St.Augustine) fired 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guyanese-American center Anthony Moe (206-1990, college: Millersville) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. Five Jaguares players scored in double figures. Dominican Jeffry Arias produced 39 points (!!!) and 6 assists and Dominican power forward Teodoro Romero (202-1990) added 17 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jaguares have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-0 record. American forward Josmel Martinez (198, college: Broward CC) fired a double-double by scoring 30 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) for the winners.
