Eighth-ranked Indigenas (2-8) were very close to win a game against second ranked Leon (8-2) on Tuesday. Leon managed to secure only one-point victory 78-77. However their fans expected much easier game. Leon outrebounded Indigenas 45-33 including a 21-9 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Dominican Xavier de la Rosa (196-1991) who saved his team from a defeat with 34 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Deikel Sanchez (-1996) contributed with 19 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Canadian swingman Zekiah Owens (197-1998, college: AIC) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists for Indigenas. Leon keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Leones. Indigenas lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Rivas. Leon is looking forward to face Jaguares (#6) in Managua in the next round where they are favorite.
