Halcones - Atletico Nacional 53-81

Atletico had a 41-30 advantage in offensive rebounds. Power forward Josimar Blenman (200-1989, college: Globe Tech) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Naturalized American Adalberto Rojas (200-1986) contributed with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Abid Oses (197-1995, college: Antelope Valley) replied with 19 points and 7 rebounds and the former international center Miguel Gotti (203-1990, college: W.Nebraska) added 7 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Halcones. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

Caballos - Lobos 73-79

Strangely Caballos outrebounded Lobos 49-29 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Costa Rican swingman Daniel Shedden (191-1996, college: MSUB) scored 27 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Costa Rican Victor Arias (197-1995) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Carlos Rodriguez responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds and forward Michael Hicks (196-1976, college: TAMUCC) scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Caballos' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
