Olimpia - Sol de Amer. 67-54 The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Asuncion: Olimpia (#2) and Sol de Amer. (#4). Olimpia (5-4) won against visiting Sol de Amer. (5-4) 67-54. Olimpia looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was Colombian forward Mabel Martinez (180-1986) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international forward Paloma Niz (175-1999) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Olimpia's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Gabriela Bernal (-2007) who recorded 7 points and 21 rebounds and Ana Doldan added 20 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Olimpia maintains second position with 5-4 record having just three points less than leader Felix Perez, which they share with defeated Sol de Amer. Olimpia's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Asuncion Felix Perez. First ranked Felix Perez faced 3rd ranked Libertad. Host Felix Perez (8-1) smashed guests from (4-5) 84-49. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Libertad. Felix Perez dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Libertad's 16. Felix Perez forced 21 Libertad turnovers and outrebounded them 44-24 including 31 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Libertad's players. It was a good game for the former international Marta Peralta (171-1994) who led her team to a victory with 11 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Sofia Villasboa contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Felix Perez players scored in double figures. International point guard Maria Perez (165-1999) replied with 16 points and 6 rebounds and the former international Camila Bogado added 10 points and 5 assists in the effort for Libertad. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Felix Perez have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 8-1 record. Libertad at the other side dropped to the fourth place with five games lost. Felix Perez's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Asuncion to the arena Olimpia.
