Carolina welcomes back Gilday, ex Granada

Nicolette Gilday

Gigantes de Carolina (BSNF) tabbed 28-year old American 175cm guard Nici Gilday, college: Santa Clara. It is actually her comeback to Gigantes as she has played here before. Gilday played most recently at Grupo Hafesa Raca Granada in Spanish LF Challenge. In 10 games she averaged 11.8ppg, 3.8rpg, 2.2apg and 1.5spg previous season.
She is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball she experienced life in six different countries playing on four different continents. Gilday is familiar with European, Latin American, Australian and of course North American leagues. She has played previously professionally in Australia (Magic), Greece (Esperides and AO Eleutheria Moshatou), Romania (Alba Iulia), Sweden (Visby Ladies), Switzerland (Winterthur) and GWBA (Surge).
Among many awards her team won Swiss Cup in 2019. Gilday was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Puerto Rican BSNF Honorable Mention back in 2018.
She attended Santa Clara University until 2015 and it will be her seventh season in pro basketball.
Let's have closer look into Her outlook: Nici is a scoring 1-2 guard with the ability to create for her teammates with an aggressive, but unselfish style of play. Gilday is a threat from everywhere on the floor with an excellent 3 point shot, consistent midrange jumper and strong finishes at the rim. She likes to push the ball in transition, creating easy buckets for her team and taking advantage of her 90% clip from the free throw line. Gilday takes pride in being a reliable defender who aids in the rebounding battle. Lastly, Nici is known for her leadership and work ethic.
