BSN Round 39: Mets beat Cariduros by three after a very close game

There will be only one (last) round of the Regular Season in BSN. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game of round 39 in the BSN took place in Guaynabo. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Cariduros (16-13) to third ranked Mets (16-14) 98-95 in the game for the third place. Mets looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a good game for American point guard David Stockton (180-91, college: Gonzaga) who led his team to a victory with 26 points and 9 assists. Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (201-89, college: Texas St., agency: 011 Sports) contributed with 20 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American forward Victor Rudd (206-91, college: S.Florida) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for Cariduros. Newly promoted Mets maintains third place with 16-14 record having four points less than leader Bayamon. Cariduros lost third consecutive game. Defending champion keep the fourth position with 13 games lost. Mets are looking forward to face league's second-placed Brujos in Guayama in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cariduros will have a break next round.
An interesting game for Capitanes (21-8) which played road game in Juana Diaz against second-best Leones (17-13). First ranked Capitanes managed to get a 5-point victory 83-78. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Leones. It was a great evening for naturalized U.S. Virgin Islands point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 6 assists. David Huertas helped adding 20 points. The best for the losing side was American forward Kenneth Faried (203-89, college: Morehead St., agency: Shark Sports Management) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Capitanes maintains first place with 21-8 record. Leones at the other side dropped to the third position with 13 games lost. Capitanes will play against league's leader Vaqueros in Bayamon in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Leones will play at home against the league's second-placed Piratas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game for Vaqueros (25-2) which hosted in Bayamon 4th placed Cangrejeros (14-14). First ranked Vaqueros managed to get a 11-point victory 97-86. It was an exceptional evening for Kristian Doolittle who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Donta Smith came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for Cangrejeros in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Vaqueros have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 25-2 record. Loser Cangrejeros keep the fourth position with 14 games lost. Vaqueros will meet at home league's leader Capitanes in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cangrejeros will play against Grises and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 39 Mayaguez were beaten by Quebradillas on the road 98-86.



Quebradillas - Mayaguez 98-86

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Piratas' (17-12) home victory over 5th ranked Indios (13-18) in Quebradillas 98-86 on Sunday. Piratas outrebounded Indios 49-33 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Tu Holloway (183-89, college: Xavier) who led the winners and scored 21 points. His fellow American import forward Will Daniels (202-86, college: URI) accounted for 16 points for the winning side. The former international forward Angel Matias (194-92, college: Georgia South) came up with 18 points and 5 rebounds and Dominican Dixon Oviedo added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Indios in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Piratas moved-up to second place. Indios lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 18 games lost. Piratas will meet Leones (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Indios will play against Atleticos in San German and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

An interesting game for Vaqueros (25-2) which hosted in Bayamon 4th placed Cangrejeros (14-14). First ranked Vaqueros managed to get a 11-point victory 97-86. Vaqueros shot 60.9 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Vaqueros looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Kristian Doolittle (201-97, college: Oklahoma, agency: Pensack Sports) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international Javier Mojica (189-84, college: CCSU, agency: Paris Global Sports) accounted for 21 points and 5 assists for the winning side. American-Venezuelan Donta Smith (201-83, college: SE Illinois JC) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and the former international point guard Filiberto Rivera (189-82, college: UTEP) added 18 points and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for Cangrejeros in the defeat.
