Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of Vaqueros (15-5) in Bayamon on Wednesday night. Hosts were edged by Capitanes (12-9) 87-84. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Arecibo shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of Dominican Victor Liz (190-1986) who helped to win the game recording 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and American guard Bryon Allen (192-1992, college: GMU) who added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side Dominican swingman Chris Duarte (197-1997, college: Oregon) responded with 25 points and 4 assists. Vaqueros' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Arecibo keeps a position of league leader which they share with defeated Bayamon. Bayamon at the other side still keeps top place with five games lost. Arecibo are looking forward to face league's second-placed Mayaguez at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Even 30 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) by Dominican swingman Chris Duarte (197-1997, college: Oregon) did not help to save the game for Bayamon. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Cangrejeros have an impressive five-game winning streak.
