Jaron Johnson (ex Carolina) signs at Cagdas Bodrum Spor

TBL newcomer Cagdas Bodrum Spor landed 31-year old American 196cm swingman Jaron Johnson (college: Louisiana Tech) for upcoming season. Johnson played this summer at Gigantes de Carolina in Puerto Rican BSN league. In 5 games just recently he averaged 11.6ppg, 4.0rpg, 3.0apg and 1.0spg. The last season he played at Openjobmetis Varese in Italian Serie A where in 28 games he had very impressive stats: 15.3ppg, 5.2rpg and 2.2apg. He was also voted League Player of the Week (2 times).
Johnson has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016.
He is a very experienced player. Johnson has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to eight different countries on three different continents (Europe, Australia and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Australia (Perth Wildcats), France (JDA Dijon, Metropolitans and Chalon/Saor), Israel (Ironi Nes Ziona), Russia (Avtodor and UNICS Kazan), NBA (Washington Wizards), NBA G League (RGV Vipers), The Basketball Tournament (Eberlein Drive and Louisiana United) and NBA Summer League (LA Lakers).
Johnson won D-League Soutwest Division championship title in 2016.
He graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 2014 and it will be his tenth season in pro basketball. Johnson played also for Tyler Junior College for 2 years.
Johnson's game is described as: Very athletic and brings energy on bot sides of the court. High motor and hits the glass hard from the G or SF positions. Slashes well to the basket and finishes above the rim every opportunity he gets. Delivered several highlight reel dunks throughout the season for Louisiana Teach!.
