Sharks add Waters to their roster, ex Carolina

Tremont Waters

Shanghai Sharks (CBA) added to their roster 26-year old American (has also Puerto Rican passport) point guard Tremont Waters (180cm-82kg-1998, college: LSU) for season 2024-25. He joins another USA player D.J. Wilson who is already in the roster.
He was the top scorer at Gigantes de Carolina in Puerto Rican BSN league. In 13 games just recently he recorded very impressive stats: 15.3ppg, 2.3rpg, 6.3apg and 1.8spg. He helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. They also advanced to the league semifinals. Quite impressive season as he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-FIBA Olympic Games Qualifying Tournament in San Juan (Puerto Rico) First Team. The last season he played at Guandong Tigers.
In 2019 he was drafted by Boston Celtics (NBA) in second round (51st overall). The former Louisiana State University star is in his sixth season in pro basketball.
He also represented Puerto Rico at the FIBA Olympic Games in Paris (France) this year. During this event he scored an average of 10.3 points per game and had rebounds per game.
Waters is quite experienced player. Thanks to his pro career he managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America) in five different countries. He has played previously professionally in France (Metropolitans), NBA (Washington Wizards and Toronto Raptors), NBA G League (South Bay Lakers, Maine Celtics, Wisconsin Watersrd and Capital City Go-Go) and NBA Summer League (Houston Rockets, Memphis Grizzlies).
Among many awards he won Puerto Rican BSN championship title in 2023. He was also selected Latinbasket.com All-Puerto Rican BSN Rookie of the Year in 2022.
