Shanghai Sharks (CBA) released 26-year old American (has also Puerto Rican passport) point guard Tremont Waters (180cm-82kg-1998, college: LSU). In 10 CBA games he had very impressive stats: 18.5ppg, 3.5rpg, 7.8apg and 1.2spg this season.
The last season season he played at another Chinese team Guandong Tigers.
In 2019 he was drafted by Boston Celtics (NBA) in second round (51st overall). The former Louisiana State University standout is in his sixth season in pro basketball.
He also represented Puerto Rico at the FIBA Olympic Games in Paris (France) this year. During this event he scored an average of 10.3 points per game and had rebounds per game.
He is quite experienced player. Waters has played in five different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in France (Metropolitans), Puerto Rico (Gigantes), NBA (Washington Wizards and Toronto Raptors), NBA G League (South Bay Lakers, Maine Celtics, Wisconsin Watersrd and Capital City Go-Go) and NBA Summer League (Houston Rockets, Memphis Grizzlies). Waters' team was regular season runner-up in Puerto Rican BSN Group B in 2024.
Among many awards he was voted Latinbasket.com All-Puerto Rican BSN Rookie of the Year in 2022.
