Vaqueros dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Leones' 30. They outrebounded Leones 43-22 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Vaqueros looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American center Javale McGee (213-1988, college: Nevada) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field). Italian forward Danilo Gallinari (208-1988) helped adding 31 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was American power forward Brady Manek (206-1998, college: UNC) with 19 points and the other American import guard Matt Mooney (189-1997, college: Texas Tech) scored 12 points and 7 assists. Four Leones players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
