Hatillo welcomes back Roma

Sofia Roma

Ganaderas de Hatillo (BSNF) signed 28-year-old Puerto Rican-Italian international 188cm center Sofia Roma (college: Duke). It is her comeback to Hatillo as she has played here before. She played most recently at La Corda de Paterna NB in Spanish LF Challenge. In 10 games, she averaged just 2.3ppg and 2.4rpg last season.
She has also been a member of the Puerto Rican international program for some years. Roma has regularly played for the Puerto Rican senior team since 2015 and previously for the Under 18 National Team in 2014.
She also represented Puerto Rico at the Central American and Caribbean Games for Women in San Salvador (El Salvador) ppg.
Roma has a wealth of experience as a player, having played professionally in Italy, Sweden, and Puerto Rico. Thanks to pro basketball, she has had the opportunity to experience life in four different countries on three different continents. She is well-versed in European, Latin American, and North American leagues.
Her team reached the Puerto Rican BSNF Semifinals in 2024.
She graduated from Duke University in 2019 and it'll be her seventh season in pro basketball. Roma played also for Wagner College for 2 years.
